Dining Table Refinished | Atlantic County

Posted on October 26, 2013 at 10:30 PM

Heavy use had damaged the top of this dining table.  The rest of the set was in good condition.  As shown below, the color and effect match was a little tricky.  To prevent the new finish from damage, the client opted for a full glass top.  So prior to completing the new finish, we took the top to JAG Glass to have the glass cut.

A linen white basecoat started the new finish.  To accent the details and bring the color towards the original, a thin brown glaze coat was applied over the base.  Then a spattering of very thin grey-brown glaze completed the color work.  A protective topcoat of Valspar satin lacquer set the final sheen.

The table is back in use in Hammonton, New Jersey.
